Oct 08,2014 | 03:02 am

SFLC.in in association with Hoot will be organizing a Cryptoparty for journalists and bloggers in Delhi. It will be a hands-on workshop that will talk about mass surveillance, data mining and also emphasize on secure communication.

Growing surveillance and monitoring of communication adversely affect journalists and bloggers, who work on investigative stories and who deal with sources and whistleblowers. Therefore secure communication becomes critically important.

Keeping this in mind, the Cryptoparty will features discussions, a hands-on session to learn and use the different tools that help keep communication secure.

The workshop is scheduled for Oct 11 between 11a.m and 4p.m. in the our office in Jangpura in Delhi.

The workshop will also feature a brief overview on ‘Why communication security matters’ by Saikat Datta, Editor (National Security), Hindustan Times.

If you are interested in participating please RSVP to mamta@softwarefreedom.in by October 9, 2014 to register as we have limited seats. Additionally, please bring along your laptop, pad or tablet.
